Who doesn't love to see a Ferrari drive by? Or an occasional Ferrari in a parking lot?

How about tons of Ferraris all in one location? That's what I experienced this past Saturday. And hey, I don't even own a Ferrari!

This was the yearly "Ferrari Breakfast" where local Ferraris from Austin, Texas and San Antonio come together.

Doug DeMuro would have enjoyed this.

Kinja'd!!!

There were literally Ferraris from all generations, various models and colors. It was pretty fantastic.

The best part about the event? Ferrari cookies. Oh, and we were instructed to only have one per person.

Kinja'd!!!

This was a family event, with kids running around and even a band! The Ferrari folks know how to have a good time. I can only imagine what a Ferrari lunch or dinner would be like. Thousand dollar bottles of wine? Billy Joel flown in for a private concert?

My favorite one out of all the Ferraris was the Berlinetta. What a beautiful car - truly looked like the king of all Ferraris out there.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

As you would expect, there were several 458s out there as well...in different shades of red as well as a grey and a black one.

The interior of the 458 was so awesome. I was tempted to sit inside this one. I think I have found my dream car. A car that will mostly likely always remain in my dreams.

Kinja'd!!!

Here are a few more pictures of some amazing Ferraris. I hope to have at least a few of these guys as a spotlighted guest of !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! in the near future. Maybe a couple of them would even let me drive their car? Not a chance...

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

There were a couple other exotics, a Maserati, Lamborghini and one Aston Martin that was too good to be near the Ferraris. Parked all by itself in the far back.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

So, there you have it. Do you have something like this where you live?

Check out more posts at !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . You'll find a little bit of everything car-related there.

How did you like the non common reds in person?

I don't think I've ever seen anything but Corsa Red in person.

They were fantastic. Not that a Ferrari doesn't stand out but in a group of Ferraris like this you really notice the ones that are a different color. There was a dark grey metallic color 458 spider that looked amazing.

I was supposed to go to this, but I was still in Dallas with my son and grandkids. Looks like a great turnout.

Great pictures as well.

Yeah it was. There probably would have been even more but there was a little bit of drizzle and cloudy skies.

So jelly! There was a big Ferrari meet up in South Pasadena recently but I had to go to a family thing.

I really want to see these different colors up close. The rare colors fascinate me. It's crazy how much time and cost goes into making the fancy 3 layer paints.

If I ever am in a position to order a brand new Italian car I will definitely want to get a unique color. It's worth spending the extra money whether you're buying an Alfa, Maser or Ferrari.

Concerning reds other than Rosso Corsa, Rosso Scuderia is in my opinion more brilliant in person but, as you've probably heard, it does have an orange hue to it in direct sunlight. Rosso Mugello is a much deeper, darker red which can sometimes look almost maroon in darkness. However, my favorite by a country mile is Nuovo Rosso. It's a triple layer red that is less orange than Rosso Scuderia and has way more depth than any of the three mentioned above. Absolutely stunning but it is around $28,000 in case you were wondering.

Photos don't do Nuovo Rosso justice but here's some:

There are tons of other reds like Rosso Berlinetta, Rosso Fiorano, and Rosso Fuoco but these are the ones I've actually seen in person.

I would definitely recommend that you look at all of the colors you are considering in person and in many lights, before deciding on which is best. Pictures very rarely ever do these colors justice.

Yeah I heard the whole area got a bit of rain which it desperately needed. I'm glad so many people came out even though the weather wasn't perfect.

So beautiful, thanks for sharing! If I'm ever able to order a brand new car I will be contacting you first for advice on colors. I'll try to see as many of the colors as possible in person. You're so right that they can look different in pictures. You have to see the colors in person and in different lighting conditions. The red you posted pics of is very interesting. I hope to see it in person one day.

Here is a car that is Rosso Fiorano for sale. The red has a brown tint to it:

And I don't know which red this car has. I'm very intrigued by it. I emailed the dealer asking them for the paint name:

You're welcome. Well I'm sure you'll be getting one very soon but I don't know if I should be the first one to contact concerning colors. I'm just an old man who happens to know a few old geezers who like these cars. Haha.

The Rosso Fiorano looks quite interesting and I couldn't tell you what color that other color is. The photos and lighting aren't the best but if I had to guess, I would say it's Rosso Corsa. However, this picture makes me want to say Rosso Scuderia, as it has that unique orange hue to it in sunlight:

Ironically, I know exactly where this dealership is located, as it's right next to the dealership where my wife bought her newest Prius and the two before it. Haha

The soonest I could possibly get a car would be next year. And it would be a lot more likely that I would need to go used to keep costs down. It's looking more and more like I'll need to go with an early year standard F430 to keep the costs down. Ordering a new car or getting a 16M would be amazing but no matter how creative I get with the budgeting I can't make it work. A car that costs under $150K will be so much more possible than something over $200K. But we'll see what happens...

The downside of buying used is that you're a lot more limited with color choices. But the upside is that the standard F430 was available with the gated shifter.

You know what you're right - it is Rosso Scuderia. The pictures played tricks on me. On some shots the color looked metallic. But now that I look at the other shots more closely I see that the paint isn't metallic. And the color is orange-ish in that picture you posted. I went to the dealer's website and it lists it as "Scuderia Red", whereas on the AutoTrader ad it just said red.

You should stop by and see it in person if you take the Prius in for service before it sells, haha

Oh. Well don't feel any pressure from me. Buy when you are comfortable financially and have found your ideal car. I know it can be tough to be patient, especially when there are so many amazing cars out there, but honestly you'll be happier in the long run.

Well I'm glad you figured it out. Like I said, these colors can be quite deceiving, so looking at them in person is an absolute must.

Surprisingly, I was just thinking about checking out a new F-Type R this weekend at the Jaguar dealership only 5 minutes away from there. Anyway, if I end up going this weekend, I'll definitely take some pictures and might take a test drive for you. Haha

I started looking at colors and can't figure out if this is TDF:

Kinja'd!!!

Also, I'm almost positive this is Rosso Corsa:

Don't worry I don't feel pressured. We just like the same things. Ideally I would get a 16M. Or a 458 Speciale Spider if Ferrari makes one.

I could make it happen sooner if I was willing to trade more than one car. But I really don't want to sell the E90 M3 or the 997.2 C2. I always imagined I'd keep those cars for a really long time, maybe forever.

That's awesome that you're going to check out the Jag. Are you ok with the transmission? I would prefer a stick or DCT in a car with that much power.

Hmm that blue Enzo does appear to be TDF. At least that's my guess. And the red one looks like Corsa Red to me too.

Well I'm confident that you'll make the decision that is best for you and will end up with an amazing car.

Concerning the Jag, I've previously driven a V8 S convertible and felt like the transmission was more than adequate. Honestly, I feel like transmissions are getting so fast these days that eventually it will be a case of diminishing rates of return in that at some point will we really be able to feel the difference between 15 millisecond shifts and ones that are only 10. I'm definitely looking forward to driving a stick version of the F-Type but the automatic that is currently in it isn't a deal breaker, at least for me. Also, this would serve as a DD, so an automatic would be more effective in that role. On top of that, I already have a DCT and 2 manual transmissions at home, so a change of pace may be good for me.

If nothing else, I just want to see if the coupe really is as pretty in person as everyone says it is and if there is a noticeable difference in power between the V8 S and R. I definitely won't be buying anything tomorrow, as I do want to try the manual version before making a decision, but trying out their demo car while they still have it won't do any harm.

Thanks for the confirmation on the Enzo. Have you ever seen one in real life?

I had a dream last night that I was test driving a 16M. Arghhh that's what I really want, haha.

Ah that kind of makes sense to get a car with a really nice torque converter automatic if you already have a DCT and 2 sticks. If you only had the two sticks and no DCT then it would be worth it to wait until Jag developed a DCT.

As funny as this sounds I think the Jag that I would want would be the supercharged V6 automatic convertible. It would be fast enough and really comfy to cruise around in. You could put the top down and go for Sunday strolls British Gentleman style.

I have not seen an Enzo in person! I'll definitely need to start going to Ferrari meet ups. Hopefully I'll see an Enzo and La Ferrari side by side one day.

Haha well I guess the heart knows what it wants.

Yeah. My 12c gives me the true DCT experience and my GTs cover the manual urge.

Yeah the V6 is a great car but I'm the type of person who always loves power and while the V6's exhaust is great, it just can't beat the V8's roar.

Well it's quite a machine to behold in real life. That would be amazing to see those two together.
